DECEMBER 21 WIT

The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven’t got it.
George Bernard Shaw

WIT

Wit is the ability to see the world in an interesting way, and cleverly make connections between ideas, things, and situations in a humorous manner. The phrase “living by your wits” means that you use this ability to make your way through the world with an interesting and resourceful approach.

You can practice your sense of wit by considering how to do ordinary things in new ways, or by observing friends and family and identifying characteristics they have in common. An archaic use of the word wit means, simply, to know. What can you discover and know through observation today?
